Flying Yeti Airlines

It is a lovely experience to go through as a group and find our way to the Yeti Air counter. We bypass Buddha Air, Cosmic Air, and Nepal Air. In case you missed the NPR story last September, I am including the link here: Morning Edition, September 6, 2007 · Air travel has been hellish this summer. And Nepal Airlines was no exception. Technical problems with one of its two Boeing 757 planes has meant weeks of delays. Finally, the state-run airline turned to the gods for help. It sacrificed two goats to the Hindu Sky god Akash Bhairab in front of the plane, and afterward the 757 made a successful run from Kathmandu to Hong Kong.

We all made our way to our plane, were given cotton for our ears and mints. There was also beverage service on our very short flight to Chitwan. We cross over mountaintops and again are eye level with the big peaks. I am struck by the magesty.
