"First business today!" That is the hook that the venders use to draw us in. There are an overwhelming amount of artisans and shops. Locals approach with knives, gilded incense holders, lots of jewelry, woven goods, etc. Anyone who knows me a bit can guess that this is claustrophobic for me.
The temples have statues, offerings, prayer wheels, and candles behind the face of commercialism. It shows the heart of this culture's faith. I wander into a shop of many old things and buy a singing bowl. The sound is magical.
